Vision
To benefit communities with in South and southern Africa by becoming a centre of excellence in occupational and environmental health of national and international repute, working in partnership with government, the private sector, community and trade union organisations, non-governmental organisations and other institutions to:
- increase capacity in occupational and environmental health through education and training programmes
- address relevant issues in occupational and environmental health through research and policy formulation
- disseminate information on occupational and environmental health through outreach activities.
Objectives
- To undertake relevant research in all areas of occupational and environmental health and safety
- To provide the highest possible standards of education and training in environmental and occupational health and safety
- To use existing professional occupational and environmental health skills to provide appropriate, comprehensive, ethical services and practice standards in environmental and occupational health and safety
- To engage and influence key roleplayers and stakeholders in promoting environmental and occupational health and safety
- To develop and maintain current information resources which are made accessible to all participants in environmental and occupational health and safety.
